The Palestine Community Theater put together a video entry for the " What is the View from Your Hometown?" contest Saturday August 23, 2003. The winner receives $25,000 from Quilted Northern and will participate in a live broadcast of ABC's "The View" slated for Nov. 10. John Morris was the creative mind and catalyst to bring this all together, with enthusiastic support from Palestine Community Theater President Michael Cook. Robert Weilacher, Sandy Hansen, Amelia Cook, Jared Cook and Katherine Newton, were instrumental in scripting and acting in the production. Palestine Mayor George Foss made an apprearance on the video as well. Kevin Triplett, a native of Palestine and now the owner of the Mopac Media video production company in Austin, donated his time and talent to assist the local group in producing the video. His brother, Timothy Triplett, serves on the Palestine Community Theater board as Vice President of Production. If chosen as the winner, " The View" will film the show in Palestine, and the Palestine Community Theater will receive a $25,000 prize. |
