Welcome to the Texas
The crown jewel of downtown Palestine and home of the Palestine Community Theater, the historic Texas Theater located at 213 W Crawford in Palestine, Texas provides an excellent venue for quality productions by local and regional theatrical talent as well as traveling productions.

In keeping with its goal to provide wholesome family entertainment, the theater also presents classic movies and other community events. Please join us for our current productions in other area locations, as we complete the renovations and... Light the Texas!


In the Spotlight

Oliver!!

Palestine Community Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for the 2008 Summer Musical "Oliver"! The musical, directed by Sandy Couch Hanson is an adaptation of the Charles Dicken's novel Oliver Twist, and tells the story of a sweet and innocent orphan boy who alters his fate when he asks for a second helping of gruel. Well known songs from the musical include 'Food Glorious Food', 'Where Is Love', I'd Do Anything', 'Condsider Yourself', and 'As Long As He Needs Me'.

Auditions will be at the Texas Theatre in downtown Palestine on Saturday May 17 at 10:00 AM. The musical offers many and varied roles for most ages. Actors, singers and dancers from 8 to 98 are invited to audition for this musical that will take the stage July 25, 26 and 27 and August 1, 2 and 3.

Anyone interested in assisting with orchestra, set construction, costuming, or technical assistance is invited to attend this audition and submit information for future contact.
