Texas Theater

Welcome to the Texas

The crown jewel of downtown Palestine and home of the Palestine Community Theater, the historic Texas Theater located at 213 W Crawford in Palestine, Texas provides an excellent venue for quality productions by local theatrical talent.

Over the past 25 years the stage of the Texas Theatre spotlighted many of our talented neighbors with productions such as "Guy's and Dolls", "Harvey", "The Wizard of Oz", "Man of La Mancha"  and "Clue: The Musical".

Our grand old lady, the Texas Theatre has hosted openings, re-openings and even closings over the years.  She now anxiously awaits her Grand Re-Opening with the final phase of renovations which will include the front of the building, boasting a beautiful new neon lit marquee to compliment the meticulous restoration that has taken place on the inside of the theatre.  The Texas reopened it's door in the spring of 2005 with the lighting of the TEXAS.
So please assist us in celebrating our past, securing our present, and preparing for our future.  Make plans to attend our next show and see what everyone is talking about!
Tickets are $12 Opening night, all other shows are $10 in advance, $12 at the door for adults, $6 for students 4-18.  For more information call 903-723-8383.

In the Spotlight

Beauty and the Beast

Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic! Based on the Academy-Award winning animated feature, the stage version of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. You will be transported to the heart of provincial life in a lovely French town. When Maurice becomes lost in the woods on the way to the fair, he seeks shelter in an old castle, but the master of the castle is a horrible beast that takes him captive. Maruice's daughter, Belle, must then give up her freedom to save his life. Belle's taming of the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince enthralled Broadway audiences for over 13 years.
